![]() I have no power from my rf2 output on my thompson hd box. I've tried turning it on and off in hidden menu to no avail. Even tried turning it off in menu then switching box off- then re starting it with magic eye plugged and then turning it on in the menu and still no power. The eye is ok ( tried both of them in my spare sky box and the light comes on no probs.) I have had the box open and I only see one fuse ( its not blown, is there a seperate fuse for this output?? There is a few usual capacitor bulges, but no other problems with the unit. Is it the psu???? Any advice gratefully recieved. Thanks guys, I left it unplugged for about 2 hours and then re-booted it. It hasn't changed the output on the rf ( still no light on magic eye/ s ) I will still have to get a new psu. But I don't want to be without the sky channels ( spare box is freesat only ) Whats the best way to get a psu without a wait. Looking at the splitter it seems that there is no power to it, and looking at the sky hidden menu, it seems the option to power the RF2 output in the hidden menu (services, 4,0,1 ) has disappeared for. On Sky HD it's on a main menu. The box hasn't done an update and moved it to a non-hidden menu has it? Nov 07, 2011 how do i enable the rf output on my sky+ hd box? Source(s): enable rf output sky hd box:. Anonymous 2 years ago. Answered: Hi can anyone tell me how to turn on the RF2 9v on a sky+hd box. Its a brand new box and the usual services 4 0 1 doesn't seem to work. ( think doing the capacitors myself would be a mistake, as if I make a mistake I will not have a box to watch the subscription channels ) So how to get a psu fast?? I have seen some were I think on this forum a description on how to add your own power supply for the magic eye. Its by splicing into the coax. Just so you can still use your box. Check the rf2 cables. If the connectors are not perfect they can short out and you'll lose the 9v. Thats what I think has happened. If thats the case, how do I get it back? Or is it too late??? Cheers If the hardware is damaged then it's not too late, but will need a professional repair. Have you tried plugging the magic eye receiver directly into the RF2 socket, bypassing the cable? It is possible for a cable to have a hairline break in its central conductor which will let the RF 'jump across' (with attenuation of course) but will prevent the DC from getting through altogether. Because of Sky’s commitment to the environment and the power required to drive the RF Outlets, the RF Outlets on Sky boxes are disabled by default in order to save energy. If you intend to connect a second TV to your Sky box using the RF outlets then you will need to enable them, you can find out how to do this bellow. Please note that DRX890W, DRX895W, DRX890WL & DRX895WL Sky+HD boxes and DRX595 SkyHD boxes do not have RF input/output ports. You will need to use an “”, or similar device to replicate this functionality. ![]() ![]()
